Stoney Brook News Letter May, 2005

Pool

Pool Is now Open! please review the Pool Rules as posted. Anyone needing a key to the pool or tennis court, please contact a board member. Monitoring of the pool area is everyone’s responsibility, we all pay when “non-members” cause damage. A third leak in the baby pool was repaired this spring. Please make your teenagers aware of “Smaller children” in and around the pool area, ask them to use proper language and behavior. We have had some concerns addressed to the association on this matter. We are looking into getting id badges for homeowners to help identify who is a member and who is trespassing.

Party

We will be having the annual pool party in the near future, date to be set.

Lighting added

Additional lighting has been installed in the pool area to help with after hour’s vandalism.  Electrical panel and grounding issues have been repaired, pool lights are now working at a cost of $678.00.

Insurance repair

Over the winter a water line above the ceiling in the pool house froze and broke causing $2500.00+ damage covered by insurance. $500.00 deductible paid out.

Sprinkler

The front entrance sprinkler line is being repaired.

Stop signs

I think everyone in the neighborhood is aware that “stop signs” at both corners of

Tiffany Drive and Scarlet lane are being ignored. In the past, calling the Sheriff’s Dept. to monitor this has helped resolve this issue. So we are asking “everyone” to call and report this to the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Department at 770-918-6700.

Lawn care

Lawn care is a “growing concern” that has been raised at meetings. Mowing, trimming and weed control are part of the covenants, as is trimming bushes and shrubbery. Some homes are in serious need of bush and shrubbery trimming, if it is not addressed we will resolve this issue by hiring a lawn service at the homeowner’s expense!

Dues

We would like to thank those who are paying their dues promptly. Thank you, also for those that have them caught up, or contacted us to set up a payment plan; there were 14 homes that were seriously delinquent with their dues. To date, only three have not have responded and legal suits have been filed. “Please pay your dues promptly”. We will be monitoring this very closely this year. There have been significant costs for the upkeep of the common areas now that the neighborhood is getting older. In order to maintain the common area properly homeowners must keep their dues current.

Meetings

Monthly meetings are open to the community and are held on the 1st Thursday of the month.

Decorations

We have had interest from attendees of the past two meetings for a decorating committee for the holidays. We already have 2 volunteers, which are welcome! If you are interested in getting involved, or have ideas for the neighborhood, please contact us or join us at one of the meetings, it is also a great way to meet you neighbors!
