Message from the Board…
We are also in the process of ordering an outdoor message board to be installed at the pool area. We will be posting newsletters and membership lists for everyone to be in the know! Future newsletters will be online at www.stoneybrookassociation.com and a hard copy will be inside the message board.
We are hoping that more people will enjoy their summer at the pool getting to know their neighbors. A date for our annual cookout will be posted soon!
Association Dues ... Thank you to all of the members that are current on their dues! We are, however, experiencing a revenue shortfall once again this year. There are several reasons for this. The government required new drains to be installed in all commercial pools by passage of the Virginia Graham Baker Act. You can read about it in this AJC article. This was an additional cost that was unexpected. The overall regular maintenance costs are increasing slightly each year. We still have several members that are behind on their dues and a few homes that fell into foreclosure with unpaid balances of dues. We have been fortunate to be able to maintain the current dues and cover our expenses and hope that will be able continue.
Repairs ... We've recently had to spend money on the following repairs:
New Memberships ... One of the ways we are trying to combat an increase in dues and continue to maintain the amenities of the neighborhood is to sell a limited number of Memberships to our Recreational Facilities. As allowed by our Covenants, the Board of Directors has agreed to sell memberships to non-residents for a yearly fee equal to the current member dues. A limited number of memberships will be made only to families in the Cherry Creek neighborhood. The application fee will be $100 and the annual fee $400. Graduates ... Congratulations to our graduates! We are all proud of you!

Rent the Pool Area for your parties ... We will now allow members to rent the pool area for special occasions! We have had a lot of requests in the past from members wanting to rent the pool and we have decided to do it. There will be a fee of $50 for an event up to 2 hours and $75 for any time over that. There will be a $100 refundable deposit. All requests must be submitted in writing 2 weeks prior to the event for approval. Extended pool hours for parties will be Sunday through Thursday until 11 pm and Friday & Saturday until 12 midnight. The pool will still be open to any members for use even during private parties. Please remember to maintain your yards! We have a
lovely community and want to do everything we can to help keep it
that way. Remember, curb appeal is the easiest way to add value to
your home. How you maintain your home can not only have an affect on

We need your help! More member involvement is needed. Please let us know if you'd like to participate on a committee, or are interested in serving on the board.
Second quarter Dues ... Dues for spring 2009 are now due. If you have not already paid, please do so as soon as possible. Your pool key will be deactivated if you are $200 behind on your dues.
